About CWCMS

The Carmi-White County Middle School is a true Middle School.Each team of teachers meet daily to discuss assignments and students.  They also make themselves available for parent meetings if needed.  We provide a Homework Hotline phone service (618-384-2100) that parents can call to check on what is assigned daily/ weekly.  Our website should have links available for you to have access to the students’ math textbook. A monthly newsletter called Firm, Fair and Consistent, is provided to give you guidance with issues that many parents and students may experience during Middle School.

The Middle School experience provides our students with the chance to move from room to room and have their own locker as they strive to become more independent.  They are exposed to the traditional classes - Composition, Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies as well as a quarter each of Encore classes.  Those classes include – Art, Math Strategies, Consumer Family Science and Mod Tech.  Physical Education is a part of the Encore classes and students take a period of P.E. daily. 

The Middle School also provides our students the opportunity to be exposed to the arts and athletics : band, choir, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball and track. 

It is our desire that our students become involved and participate in many different venues as they look to become well rounded citizens that have success in their time at the Middle School.
